● n. f. ● 1. ►DISQUE►MEM * Sur un disque dur, taux des fichiers qui ne sont pas contenus dans des clusters qui ne sont pas contigüs. La fragmentation est dite externe quand les zones libres sont en-dehors des fichiers (i.e. on peut y mettre un tout petit fichier). Elle est interne autrement. Voir défragmenter, fragmenté. Forcément, cela ralentit les accès à ces fichiers. Il existe des systèmes qui ne fragmentent jamais leurs fichiers (dans ce cas, les sauvegardes sont plus lentes). * On parle aussi de fragmentation pour la mémoire, selon exactement le même principe. ● 2. ►BASDON Dans un SGBD dit "réparti", action par laquelle on découpe la base de données.
