Il s'est rendu célèbre par le "Slashdot Effect": tellement de nerds le lisent que lorsqu'une adresse particulièrement intéressante y est citée, le serveur hébergeant le document est parfois mis hors de combat sous l'avalanche de connexions qui lui tombe sur le coin de la figure (plusieurs dizaines de milliers en quelques heures, dans le pire des cas). http://slashdot.org
